My camera slows me down. It forces me to pay attention and to observe the world around me and the people in it. To see and appreciate the beauty that surrounds me every day.
I am constantly seeking to discover, develop, and nurture my own photographic voice and unique point of view. As an artist, it is my hope and belief that this is a process that never ends, that photography is a life-long journey of discovery and expression.
My work includes (but is not limited to) people, landscape, and nature, as well as visual abstracts typically missed by the casual observer. I prefer to use existing light whenever possible, and to capture candid emotions in real-time when shooting a wedding or an event.
I use only professional level camera bodies and lenses. I shoot only digital and believe in doing most of my creative and compositional editing in the viewfinder. However, I do use Adobe Lightroom & Photoshop as my "digital darkroom" to adjust color balance, saturation, contrast, brightness, and sharpness as needed - without changing content.
I live in NH and shoot throughout the New England area. I also work as an assistant wedding photographer for Photography by Carin.
